Jim Brown working to get Jr Optimist going...

Optimist member
Jim Brown..........
At our meeting on Saturday April 25th, Jim updated the club on where he was with getting information needed to start the Jr. Optimist Club again. He has given the club some updates and we will be revisiting this again next week. Jim brought to the group his own ideas and there were some questions and ideas from the members which always helps to look at all avenues. Thank you Jim, for your commitment to chairing this project/group and wanting to get kids interested in the JR. Optimist again. Kids like these can be our future club members. Club members, we need to give Jim the support and encouragement he will need to move forward with this once we get all the smaller issues taken care of. Good job Jim, we appreciate your enthusiasm.

Speaker for 4-25

Lynda Crane

Cheryl Klotz has been doing a great job with setting up individuals to speak with the Optimist club. Great Job Cheryl.
This meeting she had Lynda Crane who came and gave us an update on what her job is today. Most of the group knew her as a teacher and now she works as a facilitator for the school district's induction program in which includes the new teacher inductions. If you missed this, we found this to be very interesting and can tell she does a great job with what she does.

Substance Abuse poster selections....

Carol Barnes updated me with the status of the posters selected by club members. Here is what she gave me to post:
Both selections were 4th graders at Mathews Elementary School. The teacher, Kathy Argotsinger held an after school poster club and also solicited posters from other 4th grade students who wanted to create a poster at home. The girl winner for the the club selection was Alexis Hayes and the boy is Cole Scholtz. Congratulations and than you Carol for your support in this activity. Again, you have done an excellent job.
